Senator History

No team in the CGL can rival the tradition of winning that the Senators have established over the last decade. In fact, the Senators are one of the premier summer baseball teams in the United States. Since 1996, the Senators have won the CGL an amazing eight times, including a record- setting six straight from 1998 to 2003. They won the AAABA National Championship in ‘98, ‘99, ‘01, and ‘02. They were also the AAABA Regional Champs in ‘96, ‘99, and ‘02. The Senators also won a NABF National Championship in 1995. In 2006, the Senators were ranked 10th in the nation. This year's Senators are traveling to Wichita, Kansas to compete for the National Baseball Congress(NBC) National Championship.

This season, the Senators will try to set a Clark Griffith League record by winning their ninth league title. In 2006 the Senators joined Federal Storage(1955-62), Martz Insurance(1965-72), and the Reston Raiders(1983-90) as the only teams to win eight titles. Winning this title would cement the Senators legacy as a Clark Griffith Baseball dynasty and place them in the upper echelon of elite summer baseball organizations.

The Senators organization sets very high standards for success. They not only want to win, they prepare to win. The Senator coaching staff teaches their players the finer aspects of baseball while also teaching them the finer aspects of life. They teach their players how to succeed on the field and off the field after their careers are over. The Senator organization wants to see all of their players succeed in life after baseball. Winning championships leads to lifelong friendships and lasting memories.
